Position Summary

Business and Entrepreneur Partnerships ( BEP ) — the go-to team for businesses of all sizes to connect and collaborate with the University at Buffalo — is seeking a Marketing Content & Writing Manager within its established marketing team. Our team is service-focused, team-minded, and values creatives who are ready to contribute within our fast-paced, dynamic world of startups, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

This role will be responsible for strategizing, developing, and implementing integrated marketing communications for BEP’s life, health and physical sciences promotions and business development initiatives, working in the dynamic world of innovation and discovery. Your love of writing, eagerness to learn, and sharp organizational skills are keys to your success as you create, deploy and manage B2B marketing communications that build awareness and reputation, engage and inspire, and drive inquiries.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with marketing leadership and business development to conceptualize and implement plan and calendar
  • Write, execute and amplify communications and promotions that drive awareness and collaboration with key audiences, for print and digital applications: PR and social media, web, presentations and talking points, brochures, email campaigns, thought leadership, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal, agency, and stakeholder partners as needed to coordinate messaging alignment
  • Project manage content initiatives in focus area, leading efficient intake and sign-off processes
  • Work with marketing team members to track and report on outcomes of activities and core KPIs

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field plus 2 years technical or administrative experience in marketing, advertising, communications or related field. This may be satisfied by an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong writing skills across a range of applications (PR, web, social, etc.)
  • Strong research skills; adept at interviewing subject matter experts to identify story opportunities and create audience-driven content.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to take technical information and simplify for audience.
  • Proven track record of integrating multiple communication environments and media formats.
  • Experience writing B2B copy.
  • Familiarity with developing marketing content, or technical writing experience, in the life sciences, physical sciences, engineering or manufacturing industries.
  • Knowledge of digital content creation and growth tactics and best practices, including SEO and social media.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate with others on a creative team when needed.
  • Strong project management skills, with high attention to detail and ability to successfully balance changing priorities within required timeframes.
  • Experience with reporting outcomes and analytics.

$60,000 - $65,000
