The Department of Medicine is seeking candidates for an In Residence faculty position in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. degree or an M.D./D.O. terminal degree with an M.P.H. or M.S. in epidemiology, with an academic record sufficient for appointment in the In-Residence series at the assistant professor level. A postdoctoral fellowship is preferred. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work cooperatively in interdisciplinary teams and congenially within a diverse academic and clinical environment. Candidates must be able to perform independent research and teach in graduate-level courses.
This position is a 100% research position and will not require any clinical effort. The initial start-up package and salary will be negotiated by the candidate and Department of Medicine. Candidates must be able to successfully seek and obtain extramural funding in the first three to five years of appointment.
Academic salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, independent research, and original work. The successful candidate will support the needs and objectives of UCI’s Department of Medicine and Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center Cancer Control Program. Responsibilities will include research, teaching, mentoring students, and service on administrative committees.
