Position Summary
The financial aid advisor will serve as a team member in the Financial Aid Office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to advising students and parents on all aspects of the financial aid application process and preparing financial aid packages in accordance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
Major Responsibilities
To be successful in this position, the financial aid advisor will have knowledge and understanding of federal aid regulations and the ability to interpret and administer student federal aid; an understanding of need analysis, student budgets, and federal, state and private aid management; attention to detail, and ability to work in a high volume deadline-driven environment; strong investigative, problem solving and analytical skills; ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet critical deadlines; ability to work as a team member, confidence to work independently, will be expected to exercise professional discretion in carrying out job responsibilities.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships
Reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree is required as well as willingness and desire to work in a setting requiring prioritization of tasks to complete multiple projects with critical deadlines and; demonstrated experience working in a high volume office environment
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with a Master’s degree, experience working in a financial aid office and experience working with the Ellucian Banner, student information system and/or the Hyland Software OnBase, document imaging software.
