Speech Language Pathology or Audiology (12 Month Clinical Assistant Professor Position) - t o teach a range of undergraduate, MA and doctoral courses in the field of communication sciences and disorders with a focus on audiology, speech-language pathology and related sciences. The position includes active participation in our Center for Communication Disorders Clinic. The audiology specialty includes clinical oversight of our Audiology Clinic services and expertise in medical speech language pathology is desired for the speech language pathology specialty. This position requires clinical responsibilities and performing other duties associated with university faculty positions in addition to teaching.

Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an accredited program (ex. Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Audiology, Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders with an emphasis in Audiology, Speech Language Pathology or the equivalent is required. C urrent New Jersey State licensure; CCC-AUD or CCC-SLP; university-level teaching experience; an established research agenda is preferred. Recent graduates and ABD candidates will be considered with degree completion by September 1, 2023. A robust research agenda, past and future as well as clinical skills that are particularly focused on pediatric audiology, auditory processing disorders, and educational audiology are highly desired.

This position is a 12-month, full-time, tenure-track assignment at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective for the Fall 2023 semester. Teaching assignments and related responsibilities may include day, evening, weekend and online courses. Evening hours are required for teaching graduate course assignments. Courses may be taught at the Union campus, Kean Ocean, Kean Skylands or other locations.

All tenure-track faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and an on-going program of research and publication or creative and performance activity. Participation in curriculum development, student advisement and service at the departmental/school, college, university and community level is also required. Interest or experience in using advanced instructional technologies to improve the teaching/learning process is highly desirable. Proficiency in a Learning Management System is required, consistent with University guidelines.
