Senior International Student Advisor, Outreach & Events (71101)

Description:
Pratt Institute's Office of International Affairs (OIA) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Senior International Student Advisor (ISA), Outreach and Events. This position provides service in a range of administrative, regulatory and support functions related to international students and scholars. The primary responsibilities of this position are to connect with and support Pratt's international student population, conduct targeted outreach and prepare communications, and plan and execute events and programs for international students and the larger campus community. The Senior ISA will serve as a member of the student advising team and the supervisor for OIA student employees.

On a typical day you will:
  • Communicate and interact with Pratt's international student population, supporting student success and wellbeing in person and/or virtually, 1-on-1 or in groups
  • Coordinate programs, workshops and events for students and the international campus community, such as orientation-related programs, cultural events and student activities
  • Collaborate internally with the OIA staff, student employees and externally with Student Affairs division colleagues and other campus partners
  • Develop new and existing resources for supporting international students at Pratt as well organize outreach and communications, including event promotion and OIA updates


The Salary Range for this position is $58,500-$64,800 + Generous Benefits:

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required.

Experience: Two (2) or more years of experience in the field of international education; prior supervisor and/or mentorship experience required. Event planning experience within the art and design industries or higher education setting, and/or with students of art and design is preferred but not required.

Skills:
  • Fluency in Mandarin is required for this role
  • Candidates must have demonstrated interest and experience working with diverse populations, and the ability to communicate effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds
  • Computer, data entry, and systems experience and proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy service-oriented environment and provide exemplary service and support
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an organizational team
  • Attention to detail, flexibility, ability to prioritize and problem solve

Please also note that this position requires U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, which is a regulatory requirement to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
