Job Description Summary

Wentworth Institute of Technology seeks applications for the position of Media Support Specialist.

Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, the Media Support Specialist provides faculty, staff, and students with the support necessary to use instructional technologies to enhance teaching and student learning.

The position will play an important role in classroom assistance, live event setup, and general assistance on campus with conferencing and lecture capture technologies during the days, evenings and weekends. Additionally, the position will contribute to the Technology Services team’s collaborative efforts to support faculty, staff, and students on the application of technology to teaching and learning activities. Provides superior customer service in person, via telephone or email to all members of the Wentworth community. This position mentors, coaches and provides direction to student staff to help them develop skills in each of the essential functions. This position will require some flexibility of schedule as some nights or weekend work may be needed from time to time.

Advertised Minimum Qualifications
  • AV system installation and configuration
  • Familiarity with basic audio, video, and lighting terminology and equipment usage
  • Ability to troubleshoot signal flow in an AV system
  • Knowledge of classroom AV automation and control systems
  • Experience with Video conference platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and live events
  • Video production, recording and editing using Adobe Creative Cloud suite or Final Cut Pro
Advertised Preferred Qualifications
  • Utilize incident tracking solutions to track progress on projects and events
  • Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Successful experience providing customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate with a team, and manage multiple simultaneous work assignments
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage own time appropriately
