JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Project Manager advises, consults, and guides the project management process for multiple large scale, complex, cross-organizational projects. The Senior Project Manager works closely with stakeholders in defining project charters, schedules and budgets and oversees the entire project lifecycle to deliver comprehensive solutions that are well thought-out, innovative, and repeatable, in addition to excelling in scope, time and budget management. The Senior Project Manager reacts and adjusts quickly to changing conditions, identifying risks, and recommending solutions with responsibilities that are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring rapid shifts in priorities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced knowledge of a variety of project management concepts, practices, and procedures. Project Management Professional (PMP), knowledge of Agile Scrum practices, and PRINCE II certification. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. Strong planning skills applied through relevant software.
Knowledge and skills normally required for this position acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years of leading complex projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Project Management: Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. Articulates complex projects into structured phases and sprints to prioritize speed, improvements, and enhancements. Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation including project charter, communication plan, RACI, Risk Register, and process maps to document needs. Develops detailed comprehensive project plans to monitor and track progress. Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Assists leaders and project teams to analyze progress, make decisions, prioritize, assess, and mitigate risk. Manages the relationship with the client and all stakeholders. Coordinates internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects. Ensures resource availability and allocation. Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Reports and escalate to management as needed. Performs risk management to minimize project risks. Meets with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project. Delegates project tasks. Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
2) Project Management Service Development: Contributes to the ongoing development services including design, development, and maintenance of a library of te85mplates for standardized project management. Leads efforts in identifying new application opportunities of project management principles and adoption of these practices and templates and maturing these capabilities. Assists with the development of internal project status dashboard. Serves as a mentor to others. May acts as a resource for staff assigned to informally lead projects on behalf of their respective departments.
3) Leadership: Selects, onboards, and continually develops employees in a way that creates an environment that inspires employees to do their best work. Sets clear goals and expectations, delegates work effectively. Provides timely feedback about performance throughout the year before conducting a final performance review.
