The Executive Director of the Honors College will provide strategic leadership and contribute to the effective design, structure, and management for the newly established Honors College at St. Cloud State University. The position will be responsible for the successful implementation of a new Honors College conceptual framework; supervise a team of faculty assigned to develop and deliver the new Honors College curriculum; oversee the recruitment, retention and persistence of Honors students beginning with the Fall 2023 cohort; supervise Honors faculty and staff; and manage the budget and ongoing operations of the unit.

 

  • Provide strategic leadership and management of all programs and activities designed to achieve the mission, vision, strategic objectives, and learning outcomes of the Honors College. Work in partnership with academic schools and colleges, university divisions and external constituents to achieve the goals and outcomes of the Honors College. 20%

 

  • Supervise department personnel, including, but not limited to: hiring, coaching and developing, promoting, rewarding, assigning and reviewing of work, directing work, approving transfers, disciplining, discharging and adjusting grievances to ensure the dual credit enrollment process flows smoothly; ensure expenditures for concurrent enrollment programs are within budget; collective bargaining agreements and Minnesota State policies and procedures are implemented and appropriately enforced, all applicable laws and regulations are implemented and enforced, and all employees and applicants receive equitable treatment. 20%

 

  • Develop and lead efforts to support the success of students engaged in Honors College in order to achieve the recruitment, retention, persistence and completion goals established for the College. Achieve the recruitment goals of the Honors College in partnership with the Office of Admissions and University Communications through the collaborative development and implementation of marketing, promotion and communication plans. 15%

 

  • Foster an inclusive environment within the Honors College. Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines and integrate and advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) principles throughout the Honors College curriculum and its operations. 15%

 

  • Continuously improve programs and activities offered through the Honors College. Ensure the ongoing assessment and data collection to assess the effectiveness of the overall program and its elements. Track and report key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the programs. 10%

 

  • Oversee the management of the fiscal operations, including development and management of annual budgets and resources allocated to the programs within the unit. Secure private gifts, grants and other forms of external funding to support the program development and expansion. Work with current and future donors and external supporters in conjunction with the SCSU Foundation. 10%

 

  • Represent the Honors College on various St. Cloud State University and Minnesota State academic and administrative councils and committees. Partner with various external organizations and entities vital to achieving the mission and goals of the Honors College. Other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department. 10%
