Job Summary:

 

The Community Engagement Intern is a temporary position .8 FTE (32hours per week) for at least 10 months. This position is a part of the Center for Student Engagement, Activities, and Leadership which includes the Wilks Institute for Leadership and Service. This position provides significant support to The Wilks Institute initiatives centered around civic and community engagement. A primary responsibility is working with the Assistant Director of Wilks Programming and the Associate Directors within the Center to provide supervision, scheduling, and training for the Wilks Fellows student staff. The individual in this role will participate fully with professional staff, attending staff meetings and assisting with all Center wide signature programs.

 

Duties/Physical Demands:

Wilks Fellows student staff member supervision
Leading civic engagement initiatives and providing oversight for voter engagement activities
Serving as team lead for service and volunteerism events and programs
Advising one or more student organizations supported by the Center and the Wilks Institute
Lead social media and marketing efforts related to civic engagement and service/volunteerism
Provide oversight for the Community Connect service platform

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

 

Desired Qualifications:

Experience coordinating community service and volunteer activities
Experience planning and implementing student leader focused programs and activities

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational skills
Experience as a student organization leader
