Job Details

1-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Philosophy, beginning September 2023, with the possibility of extension up to 3 years. Areas of expertise: Ethics with a particular interest in Social and Political Philosophy. Areas of competence: Open. The ideal applicant will have a Ph.D. in philosophy, but advanced ABDs in philosophy will be considered. The successful applicant will be expected to teach in their area of expertise and of teaching competence at all undergraduate levels, from introductory to advance with the hope that some of these courses will also contribute to our General Education Curriculum (please see: https://www.union.edu/common-curriculum/general-education-union). Teaching load is 2 courses per term; Union College’s academic year consists of three 10-week trimesters.
