Assistant Director, Prospect Management

Position Summary:
The assistant director of prospect management reports to the director of Prospect Management and Research. The assistant director is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the day-to-day operations of the Prospect Management unit. This position will manage, integrate and develop business processes for the five Advancement prospect management database systems used by the University of Idaho (MarketSmart, WealthEngine, EverTrue, VERAS, CRM Advance). The assistant director will maintain the integrity of all prospect management systems and work with campus partners to integrate the various data sources throughout campus. This position will determine the Advancement countable awards following appropriate CASE reporting guidelines and manage the units project management tracking system. The assistant director will oversee Development Officer prospect portfolios, manage Advancement's proposal pipeline, manage the units ad-hoc reporting, oversee and update Advancement's CRM training video library. Under the general direction of the director, directs program operations focused on major gift prospects, oversees the prospect management staff, defines scopes of work, and outlines utilization of resources. The assistant director works with the director of Prospect Management and Research to establish annual goals and objectives for the department.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Statistics, Data Science or related field, an additional fours years of experience (six total) may substitute for a bachelor’s degree



  • 2 years research experience in development or related professional arena



  • Experience with online databases and services, information resources and reference dictionaries

  • Experience with conducting complex analytical research and data management

  • Experience collecting, combining and reporting on large data sets

  • Experience in project management




Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of development activities, preferably in higher education



  • Experience managing or supervising staff

  • Experience with CRM databases

  • Experience with prospect identification strategies and research techniques

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
