Position Description

Rider University invites applications for the Coordinator of Performance Management. Performance Management is responsible for the performance dimension of the College of Arts and Sciences ( CAS ) which includes the School of Communication, Media, and Performing Arts and Westminster Choir College. The successful candidate will have experience with box office, business, calendar, and planning operations, as well as a background in classical music performance and/or production.
Working with the Director and the Associate Director, the Coordinator plays a vital role in the production of performances, tours, and other special events for the College. The successful candidate will work with the College’s faculty to design, support, and implement performances by the College’s students and ensembles.
Position Duties:
● Coordinate logistical needs for events and tours, including set-ups, securing transportation, creating run sheets and cue sheets, and ordering meals.
● Schedule and maintain performance calendar needs (including rehearsals, performances, concerts, recitals, and special events) in the university’s scheduling system, 25Live.
● Process purchase orders and check requests.
● Assist the director with creating and finalizing contracts for guest artists.
● Purchase music and order materials for ensembles.
● Support ensemble directors with auditions and hearings.
● Manage front of house and oversee the box office for events on a rotating schedule with the Director and Associate Director.
● Collaborate directly with faculty and staff including department chairs and program heads, the Director of Choral Studies, and the Director of Production Management
● Some nights and weekends required. Occasional travel including some overnight tours with ensembles will be required.

Position Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in classical music as a performer, producer, coordinator, or manager (knowledge of basic procedures, terminology, etc.).
- Familiarity with scheduling software, Office suite, etc.
- Demonstrated high-level organizational skills.
- Demonstrated practice of professional demeanor with colleagues and with members of the public at all times.
- Flexible, willing and availability to travel and work outside of business hours.
- Associate’s or undergraduate degree in Arts Administration or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated success as a producer, coordinator, or manager of classical music events.
- Familiarity with platforms like 25Live, VBO Tickets, and Banner.
