Position Summary:

The Department of Sociology and Criminology at Arkansas State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminology position beginning August 15, 2023. A Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or Sociology (with a Criminology/Criminal Justice focus) conferred by the time of appointment is required. Area of expertise is open, but special consideration will be given to candidates who can expand on current departmental areas and needs such as: courts, substance abuse, law and policy, or mental health.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Teaching load of pre-tenure faculty is normally twelve hours per semester
  • Faculty work load also includes research, creative activity, service, and professional development in the best interest of the students and community at large
  • All faculty members are expected to assume student academic advisement responsibilities in addition to their regular teaching loads
  • Other duties as assigned

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
