Key Essential Duties include the following:

  • Provide research-based analysis to inform cultivation and solicitation strategies, pipeline development, and effective moves management

  • Proactively identify new major gifts and planned giving prospects through data mining, push technology, and qualitative and quantitative research techniques.

  • Oversee strategies for rating prospective donors, including analyzing hard and soft financial data

  • Collaborate with leadership and others as needed to optimize prospect management efforts.

  • Strategize with major gift officers on what engagement opportunities would be the most impactful for new and existing donors.

  • Help determine what metrics could better assist in portfolio management and how best to plan, record, and report on cultivation efforts in Raiser's Edge.

  • Support the corporate and foundation fundraising efforts by promoting partnership opportunities and matching prospects to program initiatives

  • Manage portfolio assignments, conduct portfolio reviews, and track all constituents going in and out of Pratt's prospect management program

  • Identify risks and evaluate the current framework of individual portfolios, brainstorm with Gift Officers on how to approach unique challenges, and offer solutions to move high-level prospects forward.

  • Partner with various teams on special projects related to travel and events

Salary Range: $79,700 - $93,200 + Generous benefits.


Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience in prospect research or a related field (competitive/business intelligence, market research or library science), preferably in higher education.

Required Skills:
  • Must have excellent writing and editing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • At least one to two years of hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking with high attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of developing proactive prospecting methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive, in-depth research using a wide variety of sources
  • Knowledge of research techniques, online and print resources, including fundraising software (Lexis-Nexis, iwave, RelSci, etc.) to identify prospects through constituent list segmentation, queries, and push technology.
  • Comfortable with cross-departmental collaboration and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • A data-oriented professional that can oversee data integrity and coordinate systems to improve efficiency.
  • Experience with wealth screening, feasibility analysis, and campaign prospecting to identify the highest-level prospects supporting the Institute’s mission.
  • Proven ability to perform duties in a quality service manner, effectively prioritize a large number of project and research requests, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work as a team member.
  • Experience with relational database software, preferably Raiser’s Edge (NXT), and electronic database screening software, preferably ResearchPoint.
  • Ability to problem-solve and implement creative solutions to provide timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Familiarity with handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Understanding of basic financial principles and knowledge of industry publications and business trends.
  • Demonstrated experience in data mining, report creation, and moves management policies and procedures.
