Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Microbiology #2

Alabama State University, College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics,
Department of Biological Sciences invites applications for a tenure track Assistant/Associate/Full
Professor of Microbiology. The successful candidate will teach core and elective courses in the
biological sciences curriculum to undergraduate and graduate students, and establish an
extramural funded research program in the Microbiology Program that will provide training
opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students of the college.
Duties and responsibilities:
 Advise undergraduate and graduate students
 Participate in departmental, college and university service
 Contribute professionally to the growth, visibility and competitive preparation of all
graduates especially to those in the program
 Establish research productivity and obtain extramural funding to sustain his/her
investigations-based research agenda within expected time frames following
appointment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
An earned Doctorate in Microbiology or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or
university, 2 years of demonstrated evidence of significant doctoral and/or postdoctoral training in
microbiology, and a strong record of research and publication are required.
