Responsibilities:
The Y.E.S. Academy coordinator reports directly to the Director of Continuing Education. The coordinator will plan, organize, direct, and control the activities of the youth programs; serve as the primary interface with the local participating school districts, parents, college faculty, staff, and Director of Continuing Education. Recruit, supervise, and direct the staff of the Y.E.S. Academy program. With assistance from the representatives of the participating school districts, make recommendations to the Director of Continuing Education on the selection of the teaching faculty, aides, and courses to be offered; Provide program management services in a timely and cost-beneficial manner; assure adequate and qualified staffing to support the program. Assure that planning, scheduling, record-keeping, budgeting, and administrative services of the Y.E.S. Academy Program are appropriate, realistic, and cost effective. Assist in preparation of contracts and collect necessary paperwork; prepare special contractual agreements, submit accurate timesheets for personnel. Develop, implement, and maintain appealing courses/activities for proper execution of the Y.E.S. Academy mission; review curriculum proposals which are appropriate to student needs. Provide on-site supervision during the Y.E.S. Academy program sessions. Write, format, and produce brochure, prepare, manage, and implement the program budget, coordinate activities with the Director of Continuing Education. Attend a variety of meetings as necessary to coordinate and promote the Y.E.S. Academy Program. Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
Education and Experience:
Any combination equivalent to an Associate Degree or two (2) years of college course work
AND
Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience.
Must be able to work with online registration software.

Work Schedule:
November 8, 2022 - December 16, 2022 and January 4, 2023 - July 31, 2023 (approximately 25 hours a week). Y.E.S. Academy Sessions are scheduled during the summer semester. Successful candidate may be assigned to any of the campus sites (Chula Vista, National City, Otay Mesa, and/or San Ysidro).
