Assistant Professor/Associate Professor - Counselor Education

Primary Purpose of Position:
Primary teaching responsibilities include face-to-face, hybrid, and online graduate courses in counselor education and related areas. Supervision of clinical field experiences and research leading to publications and presentations at academic conferences is expected. Additional duties include academic advising, university service, collaboration, accreditation related activities, promotion of the program and the university, and other duties as assigned by the department chair.
The position is housed in the CACREP-accredited Counselor Education program located in the Department of Counseling and Higher Education in the School of Education.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP approved program, licensed clinical mental health counselor (or eligibility) in North Carolina. Preference will be given to candidates with successful university teaching experience, advisement, internship supervision, and interest/specialization/experience in addictions counseling, specialty licensure as an LCAS and credentialed as a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) in North Carolina.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidates will possess an earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a regionally accredited institution. Candidates must demonstrate potential for effective teaching in counselor education at the graduate level, research and service; and activity in appropriate professional societies. Strong interpersonal skills, online education experience, excellent organizational and communication skills are expected.
