Your Doane Career Starts Here!

Known for its leadership in higher education, Doane University is renowned for our commitment to academic excellence. Our innovative approach stresses critical thinking to produce thought leaders of tomorrow and offers each person in its community a unique sense of belonging.

Founded in 1872, Doane University is the oldest private liberal arts institution in Nebraska.  It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and the Nebraska Coordinating Commission of Post-Secondary Education. In 2021, our engineering program was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, the only private institution in Nebraska to achieve this distinction

Today, more than 1,000 students enroll on the residential campus each academic year. Doane’s residential campus is situated on more than 300 picturesque acres in Crete (20 miles from the state capitol of Lincoln).  The 800+ students on our Crete campus are highly involved in athletics, Greek life and fine and performing arts. Students attending or graduating from Doane invariably remark about its inclusive family-oriented approach to living and learning.

Our institution offers multiple undergraduate and graduate degrees and certifications to more than 1,200 nonresidential students on its Lincoln campus, Omaha location and online, with hundreds more pursuing non-degree learning opportunities online. A strong sense of community and alumni base tie all of Doane University’s campuses together.

The Division of Student Affairs

The Division of Student Affairs empowers Doane students by providing inclusive community experiences that enable them to achieve their potential and use their talents to work, lead and serve throughout their lives. Our team recently created a new organizational structure and developed new positions to best support student needs and achieve our mission. We are a dedicated team of professionals who are committed to student learning and development.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are mission-imperative areas in the Doane community, and each professional of the student affairs team should be a leader in promoting an inclusive and equitable environment. Co-curricular programs must model an environment that supports students of all identities, worldviews, and backgrounds, while actively identifying and eliminating systemic barriers that have created disparities in outcomes for underrepresented students.
