Job Description:

The Religious Studies Department at Rhodes College invites applications for a one-year, non-tenure track, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Studies to begin Fall 2023.Rhodes College believes that diversity and inclusion are critical to our success as an institution, and we seek to recruit, develop, and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool. Furthermore, Rhodes College is committed to supporting the work-life alignment of its faculty.Candidates should have a PhD or be advanced ABD. The teaching load is 3-3. The area of specialization is open, but we seek candidates who will enhance the existing strengths of the Department. We particularly welcome applicants who can contribute to one or more of our interdisciplinary programs, such as Africana Studies ; Asian Studies ; Gender and Sexuality Studies ; and Jewish, Islamic, and Middle East Studies . Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching in an undergraduate liberal arts environment.
