- Experience in alumni relations, student affairs, development, marketing, sales, events, or other related areas.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively represent the university and work in a team environment with a mix of students, alumni, colleagues and volunteers.
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently.
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks while adhering to timelines, action plans and paying great attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software, social media, and web-based communication.
- Undergraduate degree.
- Two years of professional experience in alumni relations, student programming, or similar role, in a higher education setting.
- Experience working with the Raiser’s Edge database.
- Experience working with a website or email content management system.
- A demonstrated connection or familiarity with Texas State University.
The Office of Alumni Relations seeks an enthusiastic professional to join the alumni relations team as the Coordinator for Alumni Relations. This position will coordinate efforts to establish and cultivate life-long relationships with more than 38,000 Texas State University students and connecting them to more than 224,000 alumni through programming, events, and outreach. The Coordinator supports the Texas State Alumni Association, a 501c3 nonprofit, and its Board of Directors. The position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations.
Job Duties
- Coordinate and execute meaningful, high-profile alumni event initiative programs and services within Texas and assigned states/cities.
- Build relationships with alumni via individual outreach and communications.
- Enhance College and Departmental collaborations related to broadening alumni engagement.
- Serve as liaison to the Alumni Digital Communications team.
- Support signature alumni events to include the Distinguished Alumni Gala, Alumni Awards program, and athletics support programs such as tailgates.
- Work with the Assistant Vice President of Alumni Relations to understand and implement the organization’s priorities and goals.
- Support annual giving efforts for Alumni Priority Fund appeals and Forever Bobcats campaigns.
- Required to work evenings and/or weekends and travel, as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
