Experiential Learning and Career Success (ELCS) invites applications for a Curriculum Coach to join their team. Landing a good job is the single most important reason students give for going to college. More than eight in ten first-year students say improving their chances of getting a better job is very important to them (Chronicle of Higher Education, 2022). The curricular integration of career readiness is critical in students’ understanding of how the totality of their UM experience contributes to career preparation, particularly their classroom learning. The most fundamental way for UM to improve on career readiness and fully integrate our signature career-ready program, ElevateU, is to place it at the table as a component of the academic mission, pedagogy, and programming. The new Curriculum Coach position at ELCS is key in developing and supporting High Impact Practices and Career Readiness across the curriculum at UM. This position may supervise a student employee and/or student intern.

This position works the academic year (10 months/year, August through May). However, due to the timing of this recruitment, the incumbent will work through June this year and resume the regular schedule of August through May the next year.

  • Create and offer presentations underscoring the rationale for supporting this work and its connection to student success and post-graduation student employment outcomes.
  • Enhance current HIP and Career Readiness resources and support systems in place for faculty and staff, e.g. web-based resources,
  • Scan and track national and international research for innovative and best practices in this field to inform programming and resources at UM.
  • Collaborate with ELCS Faculty Fellows to scale Career Ready curricular strategies linked to General Education, Internships, Core Curriculum, and others.
Upon completion of training, the incumbent will design and implement original and innovative curriculum and produce original reports using complex data sources/systems
