Illinois State University is searching for two attorneys to add to the Office of General Counsel. 

Associate University Counsel (Labor and Employment Emphasis)

Under the direction of the General Counsel, Associate University Counsel provides support necessary for the performance of the official duties of University administrators, faculty, and staff with particular emphasis on labor and employment. Illinois State University has sixteen collective bargaining units covering approximately 1700 employees. This position will provide legal advice and representation to the University on labor and employment related matters including labor negotiations, grievances, arbitrations before the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Board (IELRB) and Illinois Labor Relations Board (ILRB), employment matters, including those under the State Universities Civil Service System, and other University administration matters, generally. This position will also have responsibilities in other practice areas as assigned, some of which may include HR, immigration, ADA, DEI, civil rights, and transactional work. 

Associate University Counsel (Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Enrollment Management Emphasis)

Under the direction of the General Counsel, Associate University Counsel provides legal support related to the performance of the official duties of University administrators, faculty, and staff with particular emphasis on student affairs, enrollment management, academic affairs, and other higher education matters. Illinois State University enrolls 22,000+ students and this position will be responsible for the full range of student affairs, enrollment management, and student academic affairs advising (e.g., student conduct, health and counseling services, housing, ADA/§504, student organizations, University police, graduate assistants, FERPA, admissions, enrollment, financial aid, scholarships, student success, appeals, student teaching, internships) and may have responsibilities in other practice areas as assigned, some of which may include Title IX, HIPAA, FOIA, OMA, constitutional law, and civil rights in addition to general and transactional work. 

Annual salary will be $122,000 - $150,000 combined with an excellent benefits package.
