The University of Mobile invites applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Education. Rank and salary are commensurate with education and experience. Alabama School of the Arts (ASOTA) – asota.umobile.edu
The professor will report directly to the Dean of the School of Music and will be expected to:

Supervise/Direct the undergraduate/graduate music education programs of study
Teach in the Alabama School of the Arts - School of Music, beginning Fall 2023 (elementary & secondary methods, choral conducting, music history, and other areas of expertise)
Advise students and supervise student teaching assignments
Attend UM and ASOTA faculty meetings
Assist with the preparation of assessment documents (NASM/SACSCOC)
Assist with the recruitment, registration, and orientation of students
Attend mandated University activities, including but not limited to, commencement ceremonies
Accept additional responsibilities as assigned by the Dean of the School of Music and/or the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Christian who is an active member of a local church.
Supports Statement of Christian Affirmation (https://umobile.edu/about/mission/).
A doctorate in the field of music education from a regionally accredited institution required.
A minimum of three years of success in public or private school education.
Experience in choral, ensemble and applied teaching.
Piano/Accompaniment skills preferred.
