Program Coordinator, CARE Team

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

The MIT Office of the Dean for Student Life seeks a program coordinator to assist with support coordination for the CARE Team and Student Support and Wellbeing

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist a team that works in close collaboration with residential life staff, undergraduate and graduate student support deans, mental health clinicians, health care providers, and other support resources on and off campus
  • Help facilitate wellbeing checks
  • Support the deans with management of student cases through a database system, including opening, following through on, and closing of cases
  • Help support the collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that students are receiving timely attention and follow-up
  • Help students who are transitioning to/from MIT due to hospitalizations, leaves, and returns

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • At least one year of work experience in higher education
  • Interest in student support/wellbeing
  • Knowledge of the general needs of college students, college student health/mental health, and risk factors for college student population
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to advise students and work collaboratively with faculty, administrators, and students
  • Desire to work with a diverse population and an interest in human services and supporting individuals in distress
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent judgment and discretion with confidential information
  • Initiative, flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic, high-energy environment
  • Ability to work with spreadsheets, databases, web software and generally navigate technology

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in higher education, counseling, or related field

 

This is a two-year appointment with the possibility of renewal pending funding.
