Position Summary

The full-time faculty role includes teaching, curriculum development/implementation, attend open houses, assist with admissions interviews, and advising graduate students.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

Expected course load: Teach 24 credit hours over the academic year (9 months)

 Expected course responsibilities: Teach core courses in the program, both on ground

and online delivery formats. All courses taught to graduate students. Expected to

integrate Christian faith within courses and responsibilities

 Specific Departmental service expected: Provide leadership and guidance to the School

Counseling graduate program in collaboration with department Chair, Program Director,

other members of the department, including attendance at departmental meetings.

 Provide leadership in collaboration with the Program Director in expanding the School

Counseling program, particularly in the area of online curriculum development.

 Advise students: Serve as faculty advisor for assigned students, assisting in mentoring

and oversight of advisees’ progression toward degree completion, in collaboration with

other Department faculty and staff.

 Participate in departmental responses to student issues in collaboration with other

faculty and staff.

 Participate in formative student events (e.g., New Student Orientation, graduation

parties, commencement) as requested by the Chair

 Participate in marketing activities (e.g., Open Houses, Preview Nights, etc.) as requested

by the Chair.

 Interview program applicants as requested by the Director.

 Participate in recruiting and training adjunct faculty and teaching assistants.

 Provide leadership for procedures with accrediting bodies, including reviewing reports.

 Stay abreast of current trends in the fields of school counseling

Qualifications

Qualifications

An earned doctorate in Counselor Education or related field, demonstrated ability to teach school and core counseling courses; evidence of excellence in teaching and supervision; and demonstrated or potential line of scholarship. The candidate must have school counseling licensure or eligibility; experience as a school counselor; experience working with diverse populations.
