Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Eastern Kentucky University's Department of Social Work is seeking applications for an Extended Campus Program Coordinator Lecturer. This 12-month position will be based at EKU Corbin campus with an office at the Somerset Community College and will include both instruction and program and field coordination. The candidate will be responsible for teaching across the curriculum, teaching 3 courses in the Fall and 2 courses in the Spring. Start date is Jan. 15, 2023, with a salary range of $49-51,000.
We seek an individual with a commitment to teaching across the curriculum and a desire to help us expand our current program to the Corbin and Somerset areas. Candidates should demonstrate a sensitivity to rural and regional needs, and dedication to active community outreach. Our mission is to graduate ethical leaders who advocate for social and economic justice in rural, urban and global communities, with an emphasis on EKU's identified service region. The BSW program has been accredited since 1977 with an online BSW program since 2017.

Program coordination will include recruitment of potential students and advisement of new and current students. It will also include recruiting and orienting new part-time faculty. It also includes providing program admissions orientation and participating in the admissions process as a faculty member. Field coordination includes conducting a field orientation for students, working with students to find and secure field placements, training field instructors and teaching the senior field practicum course.

During the summer semester, the candidate will participate in summer orientation and recruiting new students. They will also provide support in annual CSWE evaluation, and EKU annual program assessment and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program

Experience: Required Qualifications:
  • MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program
  • Five years post-MSW practice experience
  • Record of teaching or training in a higher education setting
  • Excellent networking and professional communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years post-MSW practice experience
  • Social Work licensure (CSW, LSW or LCSW)
  • Experience with CSWE Accreditation policies and evaluation
