The NU-RES Hub, a shared administrative and business services unit within NU-RES, support clients in the preparation and management of their proposals and awards. The Hub is seeking a curious, passionate, and nimble eRA specialist to support the Hub and its clients by providing software application support, building databases, generating reports (operational, informational and analytical) and providing cross-functional support for the NU-RES Data, Operations & Systems team.

Ability to think critically, conceptually, be self-motivated, a self-starter, take ownership, and attentive to detail is essential to this position; the ideal candidate will have knowledge of systems and applications, and will look beyond the numbers to see trends and nuances around the data; he/she will uncover how the information provided can be different depending on the type of the sponsored program type it represents. The candidate will be a data quality steward and will focus on identifying and implementing best practices around data management, data capture, data integrity, and data visualization.

Partner with NU-RES and Hub team to support end-users of NU-RES systems (Coeus/ePAWs v1.0; eCD-eCLAWs, internal Excel and Access Databases); translate high level information requirements into well thought out and defined reports to provide information needed to drive decisions; serve as a resource for the user community through use and training on various data reporting tools (e.g. Cognos, SQL, Tableau, Toad, etc.); deliver ‘on demand' ad-hoc reports for senior leadership using different tools to join data from different sources; design/develop report templates for use by the community that enhances the visualization of the data by including ‘drill down' ability so as to operationalize the data (e.g. so the user can see ‘what's behind the numbers'); document and maintain resources for reporting and analytics.

Possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment; e.g. multiple projects, with routine interruptions and changing priorities; exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to facilitate group activities; ability to work with a wide range of individuals with varying sophistication and information needs; demonstrated experience utilizing critical thinking skills to proactively solve or mitigate problems, including anticipating issues, identifying solutions and providing appropriate communication to impacted parties; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Create and provide technical support/update of the various NU-RES Hub websites; updating content, and creating new pages as needed.

Support other members of the NU-RES Hub Team; general IT support for the NU-RES department and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Data Analysis, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with relational database systems
  • Demonstrated Experience with report building using business intelligence/analytic tools, e.g., Cognos, SQL, Tableau, Toad, etc.; experience defining and interpreting data
  • Strong business acumen and aptitude for critical, strategic thinking, and a growth mindset
  • Superb analytical, customer service, interpersonal, written/verbal communication, self-direction, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with others and function well as part of a fast-paced team; learn new tools and technology in support of team projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize activity; be resourceful and seek opportunities
  • General Knowledge of sponsored program research administration preferred
