Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Institute for Creative and Collaborative Arts: Art, Communication, Music, and Design at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for part-time instructors in Instructional Design and Learning Technology (IDLT). The M.S. in Instructional Design and Learning Technology addresses an expanding field of learning design and provides a multidisciplinary area of study that draws students from many disciplines and backgrounds.
The IDLT program offers a systematic approach to improving learning outcomes by developing quality instructional products and experiences. Instructional designers understand and use technology, ID processes, and cognitive and learning principles to design and develop the best learning experiences that match their intended audience. Program graduates are well prepared to practice their unique, multidisciplinary profession in various settings, including corporate, higher education, government, health care, industrial, government, and military settings.
The main responsibility is to teach some core and electives graduate-level courses in the Instructional Design & Learning Technology program.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) or Masters in instruction and design, curriculum and instruction, instructional technology, or a related field
Other Required Qualifications:
Experience and expertise in instructional design.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Experience working with and mentoring students.
Meet synchronously and virtually with students several times per semester
Able to provide timely, constructive, specific, measurable, sensitive, and balanced feedback on course deliverables
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Demonstrated scholarship and professional involvement.
Competency in learning theories related to instructional design.
Record of working with diverse populations.
Implementation of current educational technologies and teaching practices.
Experience with Quality Matters and Learning Management Systems.
Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
