Job Description:

The Department of Physics at Rhodes College seeks qualified applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor position to begin in August 2023. Candidates with a Ph.D. or anticipated Ph.D. (by August 2023) in physics or astronomy will be considered. Candidates must have a strong, demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduates and willingness to teach at all levels of the undergraduate physics curriculum. Teaching responsibilities will include six lectures/labs for the academic year (labs count as a full teaching involvement). Students in the Department of Physics are highly engaged in the department and related activities, such as ongoing research, our award-winning chapter of the Society of Physics Students, our Aerospace Engineering Club and Astronomy Club.
