Job Description
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri currently seeks candidates for open faculty positions in Veterinary Radiology. We are seeking candidates at all academic ranks: clinical instructor; assistant / associate / full teaching professor (NTT); or assistant / associate / full professor (TT). The Radiology Service provides multiple services for large and small animals, delivering high-quality diagnostic images in a safe environment. We currently provide imaging studies that utilize radiography, computed tomography, ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging, scintigraphy, and positron emission tomography. The incumbent will join an energetic, collegial imaging program consisting of 4 boarded radiologists and a double boarded radiologist/radiation oncologist.
General Duties and Responsibilities will be:
- Participate actively in clinical and teaching responsibilities of the radiology section.
- Instruct, train, and mentor house officers and graduate students.
- Perform section or departmental administrative service as indicated.
- Non-Tenure Track candidates are expected to engage in scholarly activity including collaborative research activities.
- Tenure Track candidates are expected to develop a successful research program that compliments research performed by other departmental, college, or university faculty.
The Veterinary Health Center at the University of Missouri sees nearly 20,000 animals per year for specialized diagnoses and treatment. The VHC and the Radiology service possesses top-of-the line imaging and diagnostic equipment including:
- A 640-slice Canon Aquilion One CT scanner
- A Canon Infinx I Core fluoroscopy unit obtained in 2021 capable of cone beam CT acquisition
- New Canon Galan 3 Tesla MRI for small and large animals
- A new Asto standing CT scanner for use in Equine diagnostic imaging
- A Canon Celesteion PET/CT scanner with a wide bore gantry
- 2 state-of-the-art Canon Aplio-800 Ultrasound machines
- Two fixed small animal x-ray machines with Canon Digital Radiograhic capture system
- Fixed column and portal x-ray generators with Cannon Wireless Digital Radiograhic detectors
- Equistand II nuclear scintigraphy scanner for both large and small animals
- Sate of the art Radiation Isolation Facility

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree (such as VMD, BVSc).
- Diplomate status or eligibility for certification by the American College of Veterinary Radiology, European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging, or completion of diagnostic imaging and radiology residency training by start date.
- Communication skills.
- Experience working effectively in dynamic environments.
- Strong work ethic, potential for scholarly productivity, as well as teaching skills and abilities.
