Job Description:

Binghamton University's Cinema Department develops artists and creative thinkers who are willing to explore the experimental. A strong history of underground and independent production has made our trailblazing department an antidote to the Hollywood industry model.

We invite applicants for two Lecturer of Film Studies positions. We seek applicants with a demonstrated record of teaching excellence to teach our introductory survey course about cinema, a course about film theories, and a course in the candidates' areas that can contribute to our curriculum. Both positions carry a 3/3 teaching load and the appointment is for up to three years, with the possibility of renewal.

Requirements:

Applicants must have a PhD in cinema and media studies or a related field by the time of appointment, as well as a strong dedication to teaching. Interdisciplinary, global, and cross-cultural perspectives are highly encouraged.
