Overview
The Program Coordinator is responsible for carrying out administrative support operations and assisting in accomplishing the administrative objectives of a small to medium-sized organizational unit by personally performing the more difficult and responsible administrative support functions. Assignments and projects are varied and complex with longer work cycles and may require specialized knowledge. Administrative support projects often involve coordinating, prioritizing, and monitoring through their completion with accountability for end results individually and tracking work performed by others. Often involved in planning and coordinating work in the unit.

This position will be open until filled & first review will begin on 11.16.2022. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule within Global Campus guidelines



Responsibilities
The Program Coordinator is responsible for but not limited to:

Coordination of Programs 70%
  • Responsible for the administrative duties related to the planning, coordination, implementation and administration of assigned programs and projects (to include but not limited to: communication and collaboration with students, faculty, internal/external stakeholders including campus partners, etc.).
  • Establish methods of performing assigned tasks; coordinate work-flow and set priorities and deadlines (subject to supervisor/lead approval).
  • Ensure timely information sharing related to program needs.
  • Complete, review, route and track a variety of programmatic aspects (i.e. course section request forms) for accuracy and approvals.
  • Coordinate with Global Campus data entry coordinator to ensure course information is entered into appropriate databases in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare and provide faculty contracts; maintain confidential files and monitor receipt of program documents.
  • Coordinate instructor onboarding with SDSU and SDSU Research Foundation Human Resources.
  • Responsible for on-going monitoring and data analysis of program enrollments to aid program leads in making go/no go decisions.
  • Omni-channel communication with existing students to increase student retention for academic and professional programs.


  • Customer Service 20%

  • Provide excellent customer service to returning students, faculty/instructors, internal and external stakeholders. This would be achieved by responding to, researching, and resolving customer service issues within an acceptable business timeframe.
  • A broad understanding of SDSU and SDSU Global Campus policies and procedures to ensure timely support for students, instructors, and staff from the appropriate support unit.



  • Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned 10%

  • Assist Director, Professional Program Operations on special projects
  • Participate in Department and GC meetings
  • Serve as backup coordinator support for the different Professional Programs offered by GC


  • Qualifications
    Minimum Qualifications & Education
    • High school diploma
    • 4-years of progressively responsible experience in an office or administrative environment

    Desired Qualifications & Skills
    • Previous working experience using budgeting and fiscal management principles and procedures
    • Demonstrated success in coordinating self-support adult or continuing education programs
