Position Summary:

The Certified Nurse Aide (C.N.A) Coordinator oversees C.N.A. curriculum, instructors, clinical sites, and programs across multiple campuses. The Department of Public Health requires the training of nurses’ aides be performed by or under the general supervision of a registered nurse.

Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and student. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.

Successful Candidate must have or must possess:
  • Current Registered Nurse
  • Two (2) or more years of nursing experience, at least one year of which must be in a chronic and convalescent nursing home or rest home with nursing supervision.

Example of Job Duties:

Under the direction of the Workforce Development Officer, the C.N.A. Coordinator is responsible for effective performance in these essential duties:
  • Collaborate closely with staff on the campuses to oversee existing C.N.A. programs.
  • Collaborate closely with staff on the campuses to schedule and organize new classes.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with clinical partners.
  • Develop new clinical partnerships, including completing requisite contracts.
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
  • Stay current in all requirements and trends in the field.
  • Recruit and provide orientation to new instructors.
  • Evaluate instructors on a regular basis.
  • Provide information and support to staff, instructors, and students.
  • Ensure clean, safe facilities and equipment.
