Position Summary
TRINITY COLLEGE’s Department of Language and Culture Studies invites applications for a two-year renewable Lectureship in German Studies, starting July 2023. We are seeking candidates whose primary focus is German language and literary studies, with a secondary area of expertise in modern German History and Film Studies. A research agenda in these topics is desirable.The teaching load is five courses annually, and the non-tenure stream lectureship can be renewed every two years with the possibility of promotion.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching diverse undergraduate students in a liberal arts context, and they will be expected to participate actively in the service of our department. The Department of Language and Culture Studies offers courses in ten different languages and is committed to innovation in pedagogy across all levels of our curriculum.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD in German Studies in hand by July 1st and at least three years of experience teaching at the college level.
