Job Description Summary
We are seeking a full-time Manager of Research Projects B, who will be responsible for providing comprehensive support for a newly-funded NIA-funded R01 clinical research trial and focused support for other ongoing trials in the PI's portfolio (VA-funded Merit and smaller pilot projects) which explore ways to use gamification with social support to increase physical activity. For example, the new NIA R01 will focus on the impact of a health coach to improve walking after discharge from Penn Medicine hospitals. This position will provide senior level project management for these trials. This includes but is not limited to: providing guidance and supervision to research teams on how best to prepare and implement research activities, operationalize and adapt research methods, collect and manage data, and appropriately report progress and achieved benchmarks. Additionally, the position will provide senior management for the PI's research team, which includes but is not limited to: coordinating meetings for the entire research team (weekly to monthly as needed) and the DSMB (biannually). The position will also serve in an administrative leadership role alongside the PI with activities including but not limited to: working with electronic health record data, preparing and submitting progress reports to the NIH and other stakeholders, and working with the PI to decide how to appropriately staff and budget for proposed activities. The position will supervise full-time and part-time staff working on the NIA R01 which includes overseeing the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of all staff on an ongoing basis. The position will also oversee the management of regulatory aspects of above-mentioned research projects to ensure all requirements are being met and collaborate with the investigative and business administrative teams to ensure adherence to departmental, University, industry, and federal policies and/or procedures to maintain compliance.
The Manager of Research Projects B must have impeccable organization, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. They must be able to work independently and exhibit good judgement. Experience working with research faculty from various disciplines is preferable. All applicants must be able to demonstrate familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and web-based applications.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
