Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for providing visionary leadership and administrative oversight to accomplish the mission and goals of the Julieta & Frank Staggs Academy of International and STEM Studies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and administrative services to the Academy
students and staff.
- Coordinate and direct activities related to the alignment of
appropriate TAMIU curricula for Academy students, program
assessment and recruitment of students.
- Provide regular updates to TAMIU leadership and the Academy's
Advisory Board regarding academy students.
- Provide accurate reports to TEA and other regulatory
bodies/agencies.
- Ensure that all students meet their high school requirements
and graduate under the Distinguished Level of Achievement
Diploma
- Supervise and evaluate staff.
- Build, coordinate and maintain systems for managing student
information and communication such as scheduling and grade
reporting.
- Coordinate and direct all Academy functions and events, budgets
and resources.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Master's degree with principal certification
Experience:
- Four or more years teaching experience at either the secondary
school level or higher.
- Experience as an academic or school administrator.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Earned doctorate degree
- Superintendent certification
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Demonstrated and strong leadership, administrative and
management skills.
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Interact effectively, professionally, and collaboratively with
students, faculty, administrators, parents and the
community.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal
skills
- Exhibits resourcefulness, independent action and professional
judgment that are position appropriate
Licensing / Professional Certification
- Current Principal or Mid-Management Certification
- Current Superintendency Certification

This position supervises employees.
Other Requirements:
- Evening and/or weekend work may be required.
- This position is an ongoing 12-month appointment.
- Appointment requires maintaining a regular schedule of
attendance and on campus presence from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm,
Monday-Friday.
- Position requires on campus, face-to-face
interactions.

Salary: $90,000/annually
