About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Partnerships, the Assistant Director of Academic Partnerships and Programs will plan, develop, and manage the Seattle campus' partnerships and programming with institutions of higher education across the Pacific Northwest. The focus of this position is to manage initiatives and relationships with K-12 organizations, higher education institutions, community-based organizations, and research institutions. The substance of the partnerships may include collaborative programming, talent acquisition and development, learning programs, enrollment agreements, and collaborative research. Northeastern University's Seattle campus is looking to develop a strong pipeline of diverse talent to build the future advanced technical workforce in Washington. Partnerships with academic institutions in Washington and beyond are a key component of our enrollment strategy to build this future workforce.

These partnerships will include educational collaborations such as “4+1” bachelors to masters arrangements, “study away” at the Seattle campus programming for targeted undergraduate experiences, baccalaureate access to graduate level coursework, and entrepreneurship programming. Potential partnerships could also include faculty collaboration and collaborative research. Working across university organizations, the Assistant Director of Academic Partnerships and Programs will be responsible for both establishing and managing the on-going programs associated with our academic partnerships. Additionally, this role will collaborate with colleagues in operations and student services to ensure that programs are delivering a top-notch experience for all participants.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, dispositions, experience, and qualifications.
  • B.A. required; master's degree preferred; this role may also be appealing to a recent graduate of a professional terminal degree (e.g., EdD)
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional work experience; higher education experience is preferred
  • Experience working in program management, academic operations/administration, enrollment, learner services or special projects is preferred
  • A generalist who can work across a variety of teams and functions
  • A strong sense of personal accountability to take projects across the finish line
  • The ability to manage up to senior leaders and across to colleagues to accomplish critical, time-sensitive objectives
  • The ability to write clearly and concisely (e.g., a program overview document)
  • Strong project management skills paired with the ability to synthesize information from a variety of sources
  • The ability to present to external audiences and be an ambassador for the Seattle campus with a diverse set of stakeholders within partner institutions (program directors, administrators, students)
  • Acute attention to detail and a focus on efficiency
  • A culturally responsive mindset
  • The ability to cultivate positive relationships across lines of difference
  • A sense of humor and enthusiasm

The expected hiring range for this position is $56,835 to $88,095 based on the position's scope and responsibilities.
