GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Performs accounting duties in maintaining the grants portfolios in the College’s financial records specific to the general ledger and year-end audit.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
SCHEDULE : Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
RETIREMENT : Pension Eligible

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Maintains the College’s financial records regarding assigned grants portfolios in the general ledger.
- Works in collaboration with the Grants Office on the reconciliation of the grants portfolio to ensure accounts are recorded according to the grantor’s terms and contracts.
- Prepares grants month-end and year-end journal entries.
- Creates grants budget codes upon the Controller’s direction.
- Generates audit schedules for the College’s annual internal audit.
- Performs monthly, quarterly and yearly reconciliation of the Foundation Grants.
- Works with the Foundation, Grants Office, and Financial Aid on discrepancies related to the Foundation.
- Performs the fiscal year-end grants accounting closing process.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree;
- Three years of experience in finance;
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); and
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Strong analytical, organization, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Strong accounting understanding and knowledge;
- Self-motivation;
- Experience in higher education; and
- Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague.

- Speaking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word including the ability to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately and concisely.
- Talking 1: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word including those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Visual Acuity 1: Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and/or extensive reading.
