Job Description
We are currently hiring adjunct faculty to teach SPAC 400- Introduction to Space Navigation
Course Description
This course will introduce the student to basic elements of space navigation at the introductory physics level. The consequences of Newton's law of gravitation and central force motion, including Kepler's three laws of planetary motion, are explained. The physical characteristics of the solar system and the Earth/Moon system are reviewed. The basic methods and techniques of navigating in near-Earth orbit and the Moon and planets are described.
Please note that ERAU policy requires that all adjuncts be physically located within the United States while working for the University, including during training. Presently, we are able to support work for new adjuncts from all U.S. states except California . ERAU does not support work from international locations with some limited exceptions for individuals who are residing and working from U.S. military bases.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Masters degree in discipline is required (please see list of acceptable disciplines below), as well as relevant industry experience from within the last 7 years.
Applicable Professional Certification
Project Management Institute (PMP)
Specific industry, military or university training, or experience in space operations development or management, ideally within the satellite industry, including: working in the science or business of space, to include manufacturing, operations, finance, or entrepreneurship.
Degrees Within the Teaching Discipline
Aerospace, Aeronautical, Astronautical Engineering
Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering Technology/Technician
Aeronautics, Aviation, Aerospace Science and Technology
Engineering Physics, Space Operations
