Purdue University invites applications for a TENURED / tenure-track faculty position at all ranks in the area of Cancer Biology. The search is offered by the department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology (MCMP) (http://www.mcmp.purdue.edu) in conjunction with NCI-designated Purdue Center for Cancer Research (https://www.purdue.edu/cancer-research/). Successful applicants should demonstrate an established or strong potential to build an externally funded research program that complements and strengthens the departmental focus in the areas of signal transduction, epigenetics, or immune based strategies to identify new therapeutic targets.

Extensive opportunities for collaboration exist within the Cancer Center and across the Purdue campuses. The MCMP department is within the Purdue College of Pharmacy and presents a unique multidisciplinary and collaborative environment with synergistic strengths in both biology and chemistry. These opportunities are enhanced by a highly interactive community of scientists within the Colleges of Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Health and Human Sciences, and Engineering. In addition to cancer, other focuses of the MCMP department include neuroscience and infectious disease. As such, the department also contributes significantly to the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience (http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/pillars/integrative-neuroscience-center/index.php), the Purdue Institute for Inflammation, Immunology and Infectious Disease (http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/pillars/pi4d/index.php), and the Purdue Institute for Drug Discovery (http://www.purdue.edu/discoverypark/drug-discovery/).

Purdue University has recently invested $250 million in the life sciences (https://www.purdue.edu/research/life-sciences/) and offers state-of-the-art facilities for transgenic animals, microscopy, small animal imaging, and flow cytometry / sorting. Additional core facilities for genomic sequencing, proteomics, and metabolomics are supported by cancer center sponsored bioinformatics (https://apps.cancer.iu.edu/bioinformatics/?p=about). World class facilities for CryoEM, NMR, X-ray crystallography, and chemical genomics are also offered on campus. Faculty have the opportunity to train graduate students from the departmental and university-wide interdisciplinary programs. Highly competitive salary, start-up funds, and a generous laboratory space in the cancer center will be provided.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or a relevant scientific discipline and relevant post-doctoral experience. In addition to maintaining/establishing a strong extramurally-funded research program, the successful candidate will participate in undergraduate, graduate, pharmacy, and/or medical education programs.

Applications should be submitted electronically to (https://career8.successfactors.com/sfcareer/jobreqcareer?jobId=15222&company=purdueuniv
