Job Description:

The largest accredited collegiate school of business in the United States, Baruch College's Zicklin School of Business has earned a national and international reputation for excellence in producing world-class scholarship and serving a dynamic and diverse student body in the center of New York City. The Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics offers undergraduate majors and minors in Information Systems (IS) and in Statistics and Quantitative Modeling (SQM), three specialized MS degrees in IS, Statistics, and Quantitative Methods and Modeling and a PhD in IS.

The Zicklin School of Business is seeking applicants for a Lecturer in Statistics position in the Paul H. Chook Department of Information Systems and Statistics. The position begins in the Fall semester of 2023. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in the department, including, but not limited to, business statistics, regression and forecasting models, data mining, probability and statistical inference and other courses in Statistics. The Lecturer will also be expected to perform faculty-related administrative or other service work within the department. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate effectiveness teaching in at least two of the three modalities of in-person, hybrid, and online.

Compensation and Benefits:  

$83,764-$98,309; commensurate with qualifications and experience.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022 City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the Emblem Health HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment.

After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period.

If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.

Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to Emblem Health. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by Emblem Health before the exemption is granted. Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree (though preference will be given to applicants with graduate degrees in statistics or related areas) and the ability to teach successfully, both in person and online.
