Job Description

Project manager responsible for the production, presentation and promotion of the annual Global Agricultural Productivity Report® (GAP Report). The GAP Report is part of the GAP Initiative, led by CALS Global within Virginia Tech’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with ten or more years of experience developing high-quality communications products related to agriculture
• Experience developing and executing communications strategy
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Impeccable English writing and editing skills
• Experience translating scientific information into products for general readership

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree with five or more years of experience developing high-quality communications products related to agriculture
• Media relations experience
• Graphic design experience
• Experience with oversight of website content development
• Relevant international experience and demonstrated interest in international development

Additional Information

The base location for this position is Blacksburg, VA. Travel to Blacksburg on a routine basis will be required. The position is open to hybrid or remote; however, the remote location must be within a reasonable commuting distance (e.g., Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C. area). Regardless of location, work hours will conform with U.S. Eastern Time.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
