Job Description

This position will monitor, coordinate changes, and troubleshoot issues with supported vended applications and software across campus departments. In addition, they will advise and train end users and automate processes in collaboration with the hosting department. The position will also participate in system upgrades and maintenance ensuring system best practices are followed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with departments on their vended applications related to IT support needs
  • Monitor software, analyze problems, collaborate with department(s) to tune and troubleshoot applications with vendor
  • Assist in producing and maintaining documentation for vended applications with departments
  • Work with customers to ensure proper integration of applications, provide advice and training to end-users
  • Collaborate on upgrades/new feature schedules with departments, ensuring business operations will operate correctly in current and future environments
  • Enable and document best practices for applications, automate processes, keep up to date with relevant technologies
  • Maintain knowledge of campus vended applications to identify cross-department applications and use to solve technical needs within currently available vended applications
  • Provide input on best practices, as well as the direction of product configurations and enhancements
  • Provide backup for vended application administrators, as necessary and defined with the departments in vended application support agreement
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with departments and other academic leaders
  • Work regularly and collaboratively with departments across campus and IT staff
  • Other tasks as assigned or identified in supporting vended applications on campus
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • At least three years of higher education institution experience and related applications/software (e.g Learning Management System, Recruitment and Student Support software) experience required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative
  • Outstanding attention to detail with superior time and project management skills
  • Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language
  • Understand the workflow and process requirements of business units related to application(s)
  • Familiarity with supporting desktop software applications and the Windows operating system
  • Ability to work through non-standard support issues
