Job Description

Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, has an immediate need for a full-time ACES Associate Director for the Achieving Academic Excellence and Success Program. The work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. This is a non-bargaining, exempt, grade 35 position. M ontgomery College promotes and creates a working and learning environment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, diversity, and inclusiveness. This position is eligible for telework up to one day per week after successful completion of initial employment probationary period.

The ACES Associate Director manages all aspects of the ACES high school program, with supervision responsibility for the ACES high school coaches. The ACES Associate Director is responsible for strategic planning and accountability for the ACES Program, program growth/development, relationship management, program assessment, and evaluation and data management.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, evaluates and provides professional development opportunities for program personnel, which will include academic coaches, administrative support, and part time faculty to maintain support of 14 MCPS high school programs.
  • Sets individual objectives and professional development plans; meets regularly for progress, feedback, and troubleshooting; evaluates according to MC's policies and procedures.
  • Problem solves with MCPS high school administrators. Responds to students and community regarding student issues and works closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to resolve student/family concerns.
  • Recruits, hires, and supervises part-time faculty who provide academic intervention for program participants in the high schools. This includes test prep, summer program workshops, and subject matter classes.
  • Assists the Director of ACES Program in implementing the strategic vision for the ACES Program, facilitating the coordination and alignment of departmental plans to the College’s Vision, Mission and the ACES Strategic Plan.
  • Provides leadership and is primarily responsible for specific initiatives such as academic interventions and high school summer program coordination.
  • Represents the ACES Director at various meetings, as needed.
  • Assists the Director with grant development and follow-up.
  • Manages relationship between the ACES Program and high schools, pathway and community partners to ensure student and program success
  • Advocates externally with program and community partners, and with potential donors, seeking ideas for innovative practices, potential for new partnerships, and opportunities for continued or new resources.
  • Supports scholarship and development activities related to high school partnerships
  • Presents at professional conferences and events to provide exposure for the ACES program
  • Responsible for student feedback process to include reporting issues to the director monthly or sooner if appropriate, when issues arise.
  • Coordinates the collection, interpretation, and reporting of program data for internal and external use.
  • Reviews, analyzes and reports information on student success and program goal completion.
  • Trains staff on system and process requirements.
  • Serves on ACES Data and Evaluation Group, which meets regularly.
Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Five years of operations management in an educational environment including budget, data, program, and project management; including grant writing, planning, policy, and procedure development.
  • Three years of data management coordination, report development, and supervision.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of data management, reports development, and the technology needed to perform job duties.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining effective working relationships within the College and the in community.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, including positive interpersonal relations, and presentation development and execution.
  • Knowledge of grant writing, planning, policy, and procedure development.
  • Strong leadership, management, and organization skills.
  • Knowledge of PCs, including word processing, spreadsheet and project management applications.
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship

  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Skilled in Grant Writing
  • Bilingual Preferred

Hiring Range $93,001 to $127,876 annually. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity. Please include a complete resume including all relevant and related work experience.
