Supervisor, C2 Pipeline (Programs & Intervention)

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Supervisor, C2 Pipeline (Programs & Intervention) at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

Responsible for the oversight and coordination of college and career counseling, Student Interventions, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Training and youth/parent/community engagement for the C2 Pipeline program,
including the supervision of full time and part time WSU employees and outside contractors within their area of responsibility. Assist the Project Director in the development and planning of programs.

Plan and implement the Mental Health First Aid and Crisis Intervention Techniques training curriculum. Ensure training of C2 Pipeline staff, and offer trainings to partners, school personnel and out-of-school time professionals. Manage Project Assistant and Training Facilitators.
Develop and facilitate youth and family intervention programs, such as individualized college and career counseling and group social and emotional learning seminars.
Coordinate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) trainings for staff and ensure grant compliance in this area, which includes site visits.
Coordinate family engagement events, including community resource fairs, college informational sessions and parent programs.
Participate in development, planning and evaluation of C2 Pipeline Programs, under the direction of the Program Director. Including input for professional development of program staff. Provide budget projections, plans and staffing requirements.
Interview, hire and supervise summer staff for C2 Pipeline Programs.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with collaborating organizations and agencies in the community, university units, as well as K-12 building principals, teachers, and other district personnel.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Unique duties:

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Counseling or Child Development or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Knowledge of K-12 curriculum and learning objectives and knowledge of 21st CCLC afterschool enrichment programs in an urban setting acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years working in an urban 21st CCLC learning program at the administrative level is required. Candidate must also be a certified Trainer in Mental Health First Aid or earn certification within three months.

Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
Experience training and supervising teachers, student teachers, tutors, interns and contractors is required
Experience in the development and implementation of new or innovative programs is preferred
Experience with MDE 21st CCLC required evaluation and systems, with include EZ Reports, YPQA and MEGS(+).
Experience with counseling youth in an urban setting and college and career advising.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
SUPERVISORY SKILLS: Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train staff and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among staff members. Proven ability to manage and train a diverse staff including outside contractors.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and deal effectively with others. Ability to handle a variety of circumstances with tact and diplomacy and in a confidential manner. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all school systems personnel is required.
ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS: Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and monitor workflow. Ability to effectively coordinate program employees and participants to achieve desired results.
BUSINESS ACUMEN: Understands the objectives and mission of the grant; looks for ways to improve processes and quality.
