Tenure track appointment in the Department of Health and Kinesiology beginning Fall, 2023.  The successful candidate will teach exercise science courses at the undergraduate and Master's level. Specifically, courses in research methods and applied statistics, and in the behavioral aspects of sport, exercise, and performance will be taught on a regular basis. Quality performance will be expected in teaching, professional growth and development, university service, and in the area of scholarly productivity.  Position is open until filled with considerations beginning immediately.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-A doctorate in sport/exercise/performance psychology, or closely related discipline, from a regionally accredited institution (ABD will be considered with a short term contract at an adjusted rank and salary).

-Ability to teach undergraduate/graduate coursework in the exercise sciences including but not limited to: research methods, applied statistics,  psychology of performance, psychology of exercise/physical activity; psychology of sport;  psychology of coaching, psychology of injury, and seminar/current topics in exercise science.

-AASP, ACSM, and/or NASPSPA affiliation.

-Willingness to instruct courses in one or both summer semesters for additional compensation as department need dictates.

-Willingness to instruct courses in a virtual format as department need dictates.

-Willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-AASP Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) status, or qualifications for and intention to seek the certification within first year of employment.

-College or university teaching experience.

-Post-doctoral research experience.

-Experience in online instruction.

-Experience in culturally diverse settings.

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & KINESIOLOGY:  The largest department in the College of Education & Human Performance, the Department of Health & Kinesiology consists of 16 full- and part-time faculty and approximately 400 students.  The Department offers a B.S. in Kinesiology (Formal concentrations:  EC-12 Physical Education, Exercise Science, Performance Psychology, Pre-Physical Therapy, Sport Business, Sport & Leisure Studies), and a M.S. in Kinesiology (Formal concentrations:  General Kinesiology, Health/Exercise Science, Performance Psychology, Sport Management). The Department is also home to the Human Performance Laboratory which is comprised of seven laboratories (6750 sq ft) dedicated to teaching and research in the exercise sciences.
