Job Description

The University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing seeks to expand their research and teaching mission by hiring a talented full-time tenure/tenure track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The school has full accreditation from CCNE and offers bachelor’s, accelerated bachelor’s, master’s, DNP, and PhD programs as well as graduate certificates and postdoctoral training.

The University of Missouri is an AAU member, Carnegie R1 institution, and one of the most comprehensive land grant universities in the nation that includes agriculture, human medicine, and veterinary medicine.  A competitive start-up package, excellent facilities including a new building for the School of Nursing which includes a state-of-the-art simulation center and research suite, and ample opportunities for collaboration across the campus, system and state underscore the attractive nature of this position.

Responsibilities: We seek dynamic individuals who will lead or have potential to lead extramurally funded research programs, train doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows, provide academic service on campus and/or professionally, and contribute to one or more of the educational missions in undergraduate or graduate education.  Successful candidates will be expected to develop or possess robust, collaborative, externally funded research programs.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned PhD with an emphasis in nursing informatics; Preferred Qualifications: Completed postdoctoral training

Candidates will be evaluated on

Evidence of or potential for excellence in clinical, classroom and/or online teaching. Demonstrated expertise in area of nursing informatics, data analytics, and technology-supported interventions.  Evidence of or potential to work with interdisciplinary teams to produce scholarly work. Evidence of or potential to contribute to faculty diversity and inclusive excellence in nursing. Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in MO.  Written and verbal communication skills to facilitate research, scholarship, and teaching. Applicants for an Assistant Professor position must demonstrate the potential to establish and maintain an externally funded research program. Applicants for an Associate or Full Professor position must have established an extramurally funded research program with a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and national/international recognition; a record of successful research; ability to communicate well in a research and educational setting; and evidence of past research collaborations or a willingness to work in related research areas. Individuals with interest in aging, informatics, and other emerging technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence, sensors, virtual reality) are specifically sought. Other desirable skills include configuring open-source sensor systems and consumer-grade wearable devices and analyzing data from these technologies.
