Job Details
Emporia State University’s Department of Elementary Education/Early Childhood/Special Education is seeking applications for one 9-month elementary education faculty position. This position will be a non-tenure track instructor position in our CAEP accredited elementary education program. The position is located in the El Dorado/Andover area, with the potential to teach on campus in Emporia, KS. The appointment will commence in August 2023.
Summary
The successful applicant will teach a variety of undergraduate courses in elementary education. Assigned courses may include classroom management, differentiation, general curriculum and instruction, and/or elementary methods courses specific to their area of expertise. The successful applicant will also supervise student teaching interns in Professional Development Schools. The instructor will actively recruit students for the Elementary Education program at Emporia State University.
Required qualifications
- A Master’s degree in an elementary education field Five or more years of successful K-6 classroom teaching experience in an accredited school Training in research-based approaches to teach courses related to elementary curriculum, instruction, and assessment Current teaching license at K-6 level or previously held a valid K-6 teaching license
Preferred qualifications
- Experience teaching elementary education courses at the university level Experience supervising preservice teachers in field experiences
