Job Summary

The Office of Communications and Marketing in the College of Sciences and Mathematics is seeking candidates for a Multimedia Specialist. This position will serve the College by creating graphics for both print and social media, creating video projects and taking photos to help execute the brand of Auburn University and the College of Sciences and Mathematics ( COSAM ).

Essential Functions

This position will be responsible for developing digital and traditional materials for our college including print requests, social media posts, video projects and photograph. The candidate must be able to create graphics with a quick turnaround period, set-up equipment for filming and edit video clips.
In addition, the candidate will execute proper use of the Auburn University brand. The successful candidate will work with the team in the Office of Communications and Marketing, offer suggestions and brainstorm ideas while contributing to a positive work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.

For a Level I, no experience is required.
Level II – Bachelors degree in Journalism, Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field plus two years of experience in multimedia technologies.
Level III – Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field plus four years of experience in multimedia technologies.

When a candidate has the required experience, but lacks the required education, they may normally apply additional relevant experience toward the education requirement, at a rate of two years relevant experience per year of required education.

When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one year relevant education per year of required experience.

  • A great eye for design
  • Experience with the Adobe suite of products including InDesign, Express and Premiere Pro
  • Initiative to take the lead on a project and transform an idea into a final draft
  • Creative thinking skills for social media posts
  • Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects
  • Willingness to collaborate and discuss ideas with team members
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
