This role works closely with the Vice President for Research (VPR) to support faculty and staff in STEM fields across the University to facilitate research activities that are critical to University of South Carolina’s mission. Oversees a variety of strategic initiatives and develops key relationships – both within and beyond the University – to advance this research agenda. The position reports to the VPR and collaborates with the full Office of Research team on all day-to-day and project-related activities.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD. required. A minimum of 3 years of higher administration experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent judgment and discretion essential. Must be adaptable, thorough, and able to work with substantial independence, including leading meetings with senior faculty and staff, and speaking on behalf of the VPR as appropriate. Flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness to meet ever-changing needs. Hands-on, leads by example. Exceptional writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills essential. Demonstrated experience and success building trust in a complex and highly collaborative work environment.
